Alaire Darley Bonjour! My name is Alaire Darley. I'm 22 years old and I am from France. I have a dog named Skippy, a wife named Anne, and 2 beautiful children named Landen James Darley and Avril Lynn Darley. I am a French soldier in World War I. It is very rough out here and it hurts to be away from home and my family... but still, I am very honored to be fighting in this war for my country. December 17Germany declared war on our country because we were aiding our allies Serbia, and Russia. Because of the assasination, we are now involved in World War I. I'm not really that nervous though because I know that we are very well prepared for this war...my only concern is that maybe something happened to me and I would never get to see my wife or my two young children ever again...I'm fighting for my family...for their safety...I just want to get home as soon as i can.
December 20 Today, me and some of the other French soldiers were talking about the battle plan. One man said that Germany was about to attack soon...to be honest, I'm kind of excited. Maybe I'm just anxious or nervous...I'm not sure. But I think that we should be highly prepared because Germany has a strong army.

Wishing to be home
To see my baby boy take his first steps
To see my baby girl get bubble gum stuck in her hair and have to cut it out
To see my beautiful wife
I shed a tear every morning as I wake
Because every dream is about being home with my family...
I wipe the tear from my cheek and get back to the battle fields...
And do that routine all over again...
Every...
Single...
Day...
The only thing that keeps me alive
Is the hope that I'll get to see my family
And for my life to be back to the way it was
But my life will never ever be the same...
Never take being with your family for granted
Cause you never know when there is going to be a time...
That you might never see them again...
So every day...

December 23Russia backed out of the war...we now need more soldiers, plus many more weapons also. Germany is now just coming at us to fight because of Russia backing out of the war. It seriously disapoints me. I hope we can enlist many more soldiers because if we don't, there's no way we're gonna win this war.
December 25 Today is Christmas...Still haven't seen my family in what it seems like forever. No one is very happy and peppy like they used to be back home on Christmas but you know,...I really don't blame the people for feeling lousey...I'm feeling kind of lousy myself to be honest.
December 27Because of the Treaty of Versailles, France basically won this war! Germany will be losing an extremely large amount of territory and oversea colonies. I can't wait to get home to see my beautiful family and Skippy again!:)
